It's a bit bigger than what I had envisioned from the listing. I thought perhaps the short and wide design would provide complete circulation of the oils, combined with the volume of the water. 
When I started it up the scent came through strong and immediately. After having it on for about 30 minutes I noticed a dramatic decline in the scent strength. Its like the diffuser used up all the oils within the first half hour then it was just left with a residue scent mist. :-(  

The measuring cup that comes with the unit can be used when trying out recipes that call for a certain amount of water/oil ratio. The diffuser has a 500ml tank, but you only fill it up to the line with water, which equals a little less than 450ml. (LOL I kept on saying 400ml, but it's closer to 450) The tank itself has to be bigger than the amount of water added to allow for air flow and mist creation.

I used 3 drops of lavender, 2 drops of tea tree, and 2 drops eucalyptus essential oil, which is a sinus remedy blend. Make sure you have a level stable area where the mist can circulate.
