It has 4 elastic loops sewn inside the pocket for magazine carry. The elastic gun tabs/retainers will hold the gun securely, but it can be somewhat difficult to remove off of the firearm and slows down the draw. The bottom opening is pretty large so a smaller weapon may theoretically slip out during heavy activity.  I would recommend this holster for a medium sized duty weapon or even serving better as a holster for a backup pistol.
