This fountain was incredibly easy to put together. Lol, aside from my 1 or 2 missteps you'll see in the video. I guess sometimes we tend to make things more difficult than what they actually are. In hind sight the KISS approach is the way to go, not just for water fountains but for life in general.
It arrived brand new and clean, but since it is a water fountain it's best to give the parts that will contain water a cold rinse before assembling. I also rinsed out the filter for about 2 minutes under cold water.
Once you fill it with water and fully click in the pieces, place it in a spot about 2 feet away from the outlet. Make sure the cord is secure or even lightly tucked behind something that will not weigh it down, yet that can conceal the cord that leads up to the fountain. Make sure nothing can impede the flow of water and that there is nothing surrounding the fountain that can fall in.
If your fur baby seems a bit put off by it, do not fear. Give them a few days to get used to it and encourage them that it's ok to drink out of the new contraption. I would suggested picking them up and put them close to the fountain. When they approach the fountain to drink water give them a treat. Although it's not exactly compact, it is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. A much more important fact about this fountain, is that there's no noise. I mean literally, I had fountains where the noise of the pump would drive me nuts. The pump on this unit makes no noise what so ever!
Another plus is the calming affect the sound of the water creates.
It has 2 spouts that pour out from the top and comes with 2 filters. Use one now, keep the extra for later on. The filters should be replaced every 2 to 3 months. (the time varies depending on how many pets you have using the fountain) These filters are also common and replacements can be found at any local pet shop, as well as online.
Make sure to never plug in the unit if there's no water in the base. Before plugging it in, the water level must be between the max and min markers. You never want to run the fountain with the water level below the min marker.
Patience pays, let your furry one discover and become comfortable with their new water source in their own time. This surely is a purchase that you and your pet will enjoy together.
